| So the car finally got a real shop alignment after installation of new 17" wheels, bigger tires, and suspension parts, including adj upper link and adj tension rods. The homemade measuring jigs actually worked pretty well to adjust camber and toe. The camber was within a half degree. We set the new camber at 1' neg. One wheel was spot-on and the other was 1.5' neg. This pic was taken before the adjustable upper link was added. After all the parts were installed: One finger width = one degree of camber.
Toe-in was also pretty close. We set at .125" and my reading based on the makeshift plastic panels was .375", or about a 1/4" too much toe-in. (I reset the toe with the car on the ground, which proved to be a more accurate method.)
